Hi Mike, You are, and always will be the voice of The Searchers. Although I have seen The Searchers many times over the past years I go just to remember you and what might have been if you had stayed.

The very first time I heard "Needles and Pins", I knew precisely what I wanted to do for the rest of my life... sing, play guitar and write songs. Although I have drifted toward Blues and R&B over the years it was Mike Pender who set my course... it's nearly 50 years later but I still have "When You Walk In The Room" in my performance set list.... thank you Mike, for more than you will ever know.

enjoyed the solid sixties roadshow, some months ago now. what tremendous dynamism from all those who participated in the show. totally amazed at the vocal talent of Mike Pender. Hope to attend the show in the coming year. good wishes to all.

No Im not Frank Allen but a singer in a group in the early 60s Frankie Allan and The Emeralds. The early Searchers with Tony Jackson were brilliant and the new Searchers with Mike Pender singing is much more in tune with that group than the one with Frank Allen in.Cheers Frankie

I used to really like The Searchers, until that is we went to a show in Christchurch,Dorset last night. There we saw another "The Searchers" led by another founder member(the old rythm guitarist). They were "terrible". The sound , for a supposedly proffessional group , was awful. I've heard a lot better in pubs.We stood it for 30 minutes then left. Apart from the sound they are truly struggling to reach the notes these days. Time for them to pack up?
Hope your Searchers still maintain the original fantastic sound.
regards
fred Couston

Mike told me he reads the messages on here, so if he sees this, I wonder if he can remember singing this lovely song the year before having the hit singles?

Another top show from Mike and his Searchers on Saturday night, when they played at the annual Artburst Festival, East Kilbride.
I think your Scottish fans enjoyed your bit of banter about the previous night's England football game, when you said Scotland would have done a better job!!
Remember what I told you afterwards Mike... HASTE YE BACK to Scotland and bring your superb band with you! Come and play at The Caves, Edinburgh... The Zombies were there two weekends ago and went down a storm!
