Mike's 'One-on-One' interview with Martin Kelner of Radio Leeds

Mike has recorded an in-depth interview with Martin Kelner of Radio Leeds, for Martin's 'One-on-One' programme which was broadcast on Tuesday and available to listen to for seven days, by following this link.  http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p014qz0q

Mike goes back over the years talking quite fondly of his family and his happy childhood years growing up in the dock area of Bootle in Liverpool, playing football and listening to his big sister's records on the radiogram. 

He also mentions how, when he was a young lad, his mum would get him up to sing at family parties and weddings and his party-piece was the B-side of an old Guy Mitchell record, called 'Wise Man Or a Fool' (see YouTube clip below).

Mike and Martin's chat is interspersed with several of Mike's favourite records including one by Buddy Holly, who was a great musical influence in Mike's career.
